Adopting a pet helps provide a home for a pet that is in need of a forever home. If you adopt a pet from any of the following shelters, bring your new pet and the adoption paperwork into SouthPaw Animal Clinic within 2 weeks of adoption.
This examination will help to ensure that your new pet is current on all of their vaccinations, is not showing any signs of illness, and that they have appropriate parasite prevention. This visit also gives you an opportunity to introduce your pet to our clinic in a non-stressful manner and get any of your questions answered.
During your visit, we will give your pet an examination, obtain their weight, and give them some treats to get them used to being at the veterinarian. We will also enter your pet’s records into our computer system so that reminders can be sent to you when your vaccinations or other services are due. We will answer any questions that you might have about your pet and go over typical pet care information.
After your visit, you will get a welcome letter sent to the email that you provided at check-in. You will also be sent a link to enroll your pet in Petly, our online site that allows you to access your pet’s vaccination records 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Please note that this visit is for healthy animals that are current on their vaccinations and adopted from a shelter within 2 weeks of the visit. Animals being brought in due to injury or illness will not qualify for the waived examination fee. Additional fees will apply for treatments or vaccinations that are required for your pet.
